One of the great things about moving to a different country is learning about their different Holiday's and celebrations. Guy Fawkes- Bonfire Night, is the celebration of capturing Guy Fawkes and foiling his plan to blow up parliament "the Gunpowder Plot." Guy Fawkes was sentenced to hanging and then drawing and quartering including beheading. Rather than face the rope Guy leaped from the platform breaking his neck. They still quartered him and sent his body parts to the four corners of the kingdom. Exciting isn't it! So tonight we celebrated with fireworks, a barbecue, and a bonfire at the home of one of the members of our church, the Dodds.
Ads had a blast roasting marshmallows in the fire pit which is something she has missed about her grandma's home in UT. Gucci has a great fire pit and waterfall in her back yard that makes for great summer play and S'more making. It has taken some time, but I think that Ads is learning that certain activities don't have to be specific to UT. We had a really really fun night.
