Adessa's Birthday Indian Style

Have I mentioned how AMAZING Aparna is? Aparna and Prashant and their family are such wonderful friends and blessings to our family. Aparna told me that on Adessa's Birthday she wanted us to come to their home so that we could celebrate her Birthday the way they do in their culture. Adessa's Birthday was on a Thursday which just so happens to be our busiest day of the week with swimming right after school and ballet right after swimming. Admittedly, we were a bit tired and hungry, so what better way to end our evening then with a Birthday celebration at the Pangare's.

Doesn't Aparna look gorgeous in her aqua coloured saree? Beautiful.

Aparna first took us upstairs and gave Ads her gift from Aparna. When Aparna went home to Mumbai this summer she had her Mom make Ads a beautiful dress and shirt for her for her Birthday. The skirt and top fit perfectly and Ads felt like an Indian Princess.

Aparna took Ads and decked her out in beautiful jewellery for her Birthday ceremony.

This is where Ads sat whilst Aparna performed the Blessing. Look how beautiful the sand design around the seat is. What a special day for Ads.

Aparna had a dish with a diamond, gold, money, and sweets on it. She also had a red powder, some rice, and a little oil lamp on the tray. Aparna blessed her to never want for jewels, gold, money, or sweet things and for good health.

Aparna and Prashant then gave Ads a gift from Ardi and Mao.

The family finished the celebration off with a cake from Prashant.

As tradition holds dad feeds the first bite of cake to his daughter.

Adessa loved her beautiful dress and wore it to our Church on Sunday.

Many thanks to the Pangare family for their love and friendship, you are a blessing to us!
