We woke up early today for our 2 hour early entry into the park. We raced to Fantasy Land and hit all of the kiddie rides before the madness began. Half term break = crazy Disneyland Paris. Over here you have to write a letter to the Head Teacher (aka Principal) asking for permission for your child to miss school, the Head teacher then consults with the classroom teacher, who either says your child can miss class or must not miss school. After deliberating over the dates and whether or not your child can miss school the Head Teacher will send you a letter approving the absence or denying it. If your child misses school without approval, you will be fined. This is why Disneyland Paris was crazy at half term. You pretty much wait until a break to go on a Holiday.

I loved that the carousel reflected the Medieval "Knight in shining armour" style carousel horses. Disneyland Paris definitely incorporated some of the European style and architecture into the park.
The Pink One loved the carousel and the Blue One hated it.

It's a Small World
This is what the Pink One thought of Small World.....
and this is what the Blue One thought of it. You can see the difference between a bored almost 6 year old and a captivated 2 year old.
There isn't an Alice in Wonderland ride, but an Alice in Wonderland maze instead.
Trying to pull Excalibur from the stone.
Maleficent in her dragon form underneath Sleeping Beauty's Castle.
When we were in Hohenschwangau Germany we went to Neuschwanstein Castle built by King Ludwig II. We were cracked up by this restaurant called King Ludwig's Castle, obviously after Neuschwanstein. Neuschwanstein was Disney's inspiration for Sleeping Beauty's Castle.
We took a midday break from the crowds and the rides to head to the pool. The weather was sunny and warm in France and so we took advantage of the pool time. We stayed in the Disneyland New York hotel, which had a great pool facility.
After our swim break we headed back for some more rides and dinner in Frontier Land at a stake and taters restaurant. It was fun eating western style food. While sitting in the restaurant I saw a mouse run by, not Mickey Mouse either. Nothing makes you lose your appetite more quickly than watching a mouse conga on by while munching away on your dinner. Gross.
The Blue One trying to take a picture of me with his crayon box. Such a clever boy.
Earlier while we were leaving the park for a midday swim, the Pink One bent down to fix her shoe. While fixing her shoe some random guy obviously not looking ran her over with his pram. He was mortified, and she screamed like a banshee :) The Pink One cried and cried, which made this poor fellow who kept apologising in French feel terrible. However, her cries were not as bad as the wrath of his wife! Boy oh boy did she let him have it. It was hysterical. We made the Pink One re-enact the ordeal. We laughed and laughed about the "Ad's kill" on the side walk. Splat! Squish! Scream!
We headed back to the hotel completely wiped out from our early and long day, which proved to be a success with the kids.
